In the area of Santa’s Resort Kakslauttanen, there is Santa’s real home, where Santa lives with his wife and receives their visitors. The elves serve hot drinks and gingerbread during your stay. Santa has also built a fabulous, new Celebration House for his visitors’ use. In the large timbered Celebration House, there is space for over two hundred people for dining, concerts, meetings, product or new car launches, and many more occasions. The Celebration House is suitable for many different events.
Near Santa’s House is a large reindeer drift fence, where some of Santa’s reindeer and the elves are waiting for you. If you make a reservation beforehand, you can even try reindeer sledge-driving here! In the Lappish pole tent, the Reindeer Elf serves you warm drinks and something small to eat at an open fire. In the summertime, the reindeer herd freely in the surrounding area, where they have two peat lodges to protect them from the heat. Close to the peat lodges you can watch the reindeer and take photographs of them.
Santa and his elves have built a bridge that is 50 meters long and 10 meters high. It brings you over a bog to the Gold Creek. The Gold Elf lives there in his own cabin. Gold Elf has partly coated the roof and eaves of his cabin with 24-carat gold. In the summertime, Gold Elf pans for gold from the Gold Creek. Santa, Gold Elf, and Smith Elf have their own secret formula, with which Smith Elf creates millions of gifts from the panned gold nuggets in his workshop. In the workshop you can see a sparkling light, when the Gold Elf pitches gold nuggets into his forge: watch how they turn into gifts and are sent around the world just like text messages.
In the summertime, everyone is allowed to pan for gold in Santa’s gold panning area with Gold Elf and other elves. The gold nuggets you find are yours to keep as a souvenir. The Gold Elf guarantees that everyone finds at least one nugget, often even many of them. The Gold Elf called “Räyhä” has found several large nuggets from the Gold Creek, the biggest of them weighing 30 grams!
During the winter, Santa’s Village features a sledging hill with a close-by cafe and Santa’s Souvenir Shop.
You can experience all this in two hours, guided by the elves. Santa’s Resort Kakslauttanen is located in the Saariselkä area. The journey from Saariselkä takes 15 minutes and from Hotel Kakslauttanen it only takes 10 minutes. You can arrive by car or, in the wintertime, by snowmobile or husky sledge.
